Practical aspects of indoor air quality (IAQ) issues facing building owners and managers in the education sector are briefly reviewed in this paper. Some of the key features of this sector are outlined, followed by a description and evaluation of how IAQ is being addressed in British Columbia. With specific reference to diagnostic techniques, operational requirements, economic implications, and roles and responsibilities, numerous recommendations are made for effective approaches to IAQ management in schools.
